The role of pharmacists is expanding further and becoming more valuable outside of the clinical setting. The most common post-graduation training path that pharmacy students are aware of is residency. Awareness of other post-graduate options is lacking. Extracurricular opportunities allow pharmacy students to make decisions for electives in preparation for post-graduate plans. The issue that typically occurs is that pharmacy students may learn about other fields of pharmacy in their final year, which doesn’t give enough time to explore those options.
