Senior Accreditation Services Associate, Lead Surveyor

Andrea Walsh Haron is an accreditation services associate in ASHP's Accreditation Services Division. Andrea has been employed as ASHP's lead surveyor since January 2015, conducting accreditation site surveys for pharmacy residency programs throughout the United States. Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences in Boston, and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island. Prior to joining ASHP, Andrea worked as senior clinical pharmacist specialist at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital, Lifespan affiliates, in Providence, Rhode Island for more than 20 years. She was a preceptor in and coordinator for both PGY2 residency programs, the ASHP-accredited PGY2 Oncology program and PGY2 Ambulatory Care programs. She coordinated accreditation efforts for the residency program and the retail specialty pharmacy program (URAC) and she was involved in maintaining Joint Commission accreditations. Andrea's professional background includes experience in pediatric and pediatric psychiatric pharmacy practice, as well as community acute care hospital settings. Andrea has served as legislative chair and president-elect for the Rhode Island Society of Health-System Pharmacists (RISHP). In 2014, she was also a delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates, representing Rhode Island.
