Accreditation Services Associate, Lead Surveyor

Michelle L. Rager is an accreditation services associate in ASHP's Accreditation Services Division. Michelle joined ASHP in January 2023 and is conducting accreditation site surveys for PGY1 Pharmacy, PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy and PGY2 specialty pharmacy residency programs throughout the United States. Michelle earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in Baltimore, Maryland. Following graduation, she stayed at the University of Maryland to complete a PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy residency with the School of Pharmacy and Happy Harry’s, a Walgreens Pharmacy. She then completed a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy residency in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania with the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University. Previously, she has worked as an associate professor of pharmacy practice and interim department chair at Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy in Winchester, Virginia. Prior to joining ASHP, Michelle was a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner working in primary care and the RPD for the PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Michelle has been active in the North Carolina Pharmacists Association, serving on the inaugural Executive Board for the Ambulatory Care Forum, and severed on several ACCP annual committees, as well as serving as chair for the ACCP Endocrine and Metabolism PRN. Michelle is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS), board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist (BCACP) and a member of ACCP, APhA and ASHP.
