Kamakshi Rao, PharmD, BCOP, FASHP, FHOPA is the Director of Pharmacy, Clinical and Academic Enterprises at the University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Rao graduated from the Rutgers University College of Pharmacy, then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the VCU Health System followed by an oncology pharmacy fellowship at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Dr. Rao has practiced as an oncology clinician and has served in leadership roles for residency programs for over 20 years. She has served as a residency program director, and in her current role, oversees the residency programs and the adult acute care and ambulatory clinical services at the UNC Medical Center. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Education at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Dr. Rao has been recognized as a Fellow of the ASHP and HOPA, and has served in leadership roles for ASHP, the American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, and the Hematology-Oncology Pharmacists Association. She is also a certified professional coach and has spoken and published extensively in the areas of oncology, stem cell transplantation, experiential education, DEI, well-being, and career development.
