Jerry James, PharmD, MS is rhe Administrative Director of Pharmacy at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is over multiple aspects of the Administrative serviceline of Pharmacy Services, including the pharmacy financial team, project management, contracting and facilities management of sterile compounding pharmacies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Jerry furthered his expertise through a PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency at the University of Kansas Health System, earning a Master of Science in Pharmacy Practice.
Jerry has research experience in transitions of care and completed a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Project around Medication Reconciliation. His practice interests include pharmacy leadership, operations and technology. He served as President of Metroplex Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP), committee member of the Management Executive Section and Leadership Committee for Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP) and served on the Business Development and System Integration Advisory Group for American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Jerry is also an active member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is on the committee for Diversity and Inclusion. He is a preceptor and adjunct faculty member for UT Austin College of Pharmacy and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy where he has the opportunity to precept students on rotations.
