Katie Cardone, PharmD, BCACP, FNKF, FASN, FCCP is an associate professor and PharmD program director at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She received her doctor of pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and completed fellowship training at Albany Medical Center and Albany College of Pharmacy. Dr. Cardone’s clinical interests are in ambulatory care nephrology with experience in dialysis, outpatient nephrology, public health, community pharmacy, and medication therapy management services. Dr. Cardone currently serves as residency program director for the College’s ASHP-accredited PGY2 ambulatory care residency that provides a balance of primary care and specialty experiences to its trainees. She maintains a research program focused on improving care in patients with kidney disease. Her work has included pharmacokinetic studies in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis and projects to identify and resolve medication therapy problems in the outpatient nephrology setting. She is part of the leadership of the Advancing Kidney Health through Optimal Medication Management and serves as its Nephrology Practice Standards Workgroup co-leader. She is also a current member of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Council. Dr. Cardone a board certified ambulatory care pharmacist and is a fellow of the National Kidney Foundation, the American Society of Nephrology, and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
