Dr. Muñoz is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity at George Washington University's Milken Institute School of Public Health. She is currently working with a team of researchers in a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Technical Assistance Center—called the Workplace Change Collaborative—to support grantees of the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act and to develop a national framework on burnout and moral injury in the health and public safety workforce.
Dr. Muñoz obtained a BSN, MSN, and PhD in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a Registered Nurse and holds certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked as a nurse in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings and also as a rheumatology nurse practitioner. Her research explores the career and educational decision-making of healthcare workers, with the goal of retaining and expanding the number of workers in shortage areas, increasing workforce diversity, and helping workers manage career and educational challenges.
