Pharmacy Specialist – Pain Management/Opioid Stewardship

Amanda Michelle Benedetti, PharmD, RPh, BCGP is a Pharmacy Specialist in Pain Management and Opioid Stewardship at the MetroHealth Health System in Cleveland, Ohio. Amanda graduated from Purdue University School of Pharmacy and completed a post graduate year one pharmacy residency at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. At MetroHealth, she works out of the Office of Opioid Safety, and is a member of the health systems’ Opioid Safety Task Force, the Controlled Substance Peer Review Committee, and the Controlled Substance Diversion Prevention committee. Amanda serves as a preceptor to MetroHealth PGY-1 and PGY-2 Pharmacy Residents, and to pharmacy students from all schools of pharmacy in Ohio. She has devoted her career to promote the safe use of medications for pain management through research and education of both patients and providers. More recently, she has developed an interest in the care of patients with opioid use disorder. She is been a long-time member of ASHP, and recently joined the ASHP Ambulatory Care Section Advisory Group on Pain Management and Palliative Care.
