Dr. Melissa Santibañez is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Barry & Judy Silverman College of Pharmacy (Fort Lauderdale, FL) with a clinical practice site focused on ICU outcomes at Memorial Regional Hospital (Hollywood, FL). She received her Pharm.D. from NSU in 2015 and then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016, followed by a PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2017. Her research interests include hemostasis and reversal of anticoagulation, antimicrobial stewardship in the ICU, pharmacist burnout, and pharmacy advocacy. Prior to joining the faculty at NSU COP in January 2021, she was an Assistant Professor at Larkin University College of Pharmacy for 3.5 years. She is board-certified in critical care pharmacy and has received extramural funding for scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). She currently serves as Chair of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Pulmonary Practice and Research Network (PRN) and as the State Regional Coordinator for the Florida chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). She has presented research and served as an invited speaker at several regional, state, national, and international meetings. She is also a founding program faculty for the Memorial Regional Hospital resident research certificate program.
