Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner

Dr. Phan is a clinical pharmacist practitioner at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Adult Rheumatology Specialty Clinic. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency at Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina. She is Board Certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
Upon completion of her residency training, Dr. Phan served as a clinical pharmacist at Cone Health - Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. She later transitioned into a clinical pharmacist position at UNC Hospitals then into her current role as the clinical pharmacist practitioner for the adult rheumatology specialty clinic. As a clinical pharmacist practitioner, she works closely with certified rheumatologists, advance practice providers, and rheumatology fellows under a collaborative agreement to optimize the care and outcomes of patients with rheumatic conditions.
Dr. Phan is an active participant in research and scholarships with interests in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and gout. She works closely with the quality improvement work group within the UNC Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology, the Chapel Hill Alliance Promoting Excellence in Lupus (CHAPEL) work group as well as the Thurston Arthritis Research Center to improve the lives of patients with rheumatic conditions.
