Kristin Zimmerman, PharmD, is an Associate Professor within the VCU School of Pharmacy’s Department of Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Science and the Geriatric Pharmacotherapy Program. Dr. Zimmerman earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy before pursuing ambulatory-care focused PGY-1 and geriatric PGY-2 residency training within the Boston VA Healthcare System. An academician for the past decade, she has practiced within the Boston Veteran's Affairs Healthcare System's GRECC, family medicine, and primary care geriatrics. In her current role at VCU, she practices within the Center for Advanced Health Management working with an interprofessional team to manage a complex, geriatric primary care panel. Her areas of research and clinical interest include the cognitive impact of medications, medication appropriateness, regimen complexity and the de-prescribing of un-necessary medications.
