Matthew Rewald, BS, CPhT, DPLA is the Pharmacy Technician Education Coordinator for Mayo Clinic. Matthew is also Program Director for the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS) Pharmacy Technician Program and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy for Mayo Clinic College of Medicine & Science. Matthew has worked in the pharmacy profession as an inpatient and outpatient pharmacy technician, supervisor and instructor in many settings throughout his career. In recognition of his service in the profession, Matthew was awarded the 2020 MSHP Outstanding Pharmacy Technician Award and the inaugural 2021 ASHP Board of Directors Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award. In recognition of his service as an educator, Matthew was awarded the 2015 New York Association for Continuing and Community Education (NYACCE) Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and the 2023 Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Outstanding Educator Award. Matthew has previously served the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists (NYSCHP) as the Chair of the Support Personnel Committee and technician liaison to the Rochester Area Society of Health-system Pharmacists (RASHP) prior to his current service as a member of the Minnesota Society of Health-system Pharmacists (MSHP). Matthew is currently serving as Past Chair of the ASHP/ACPE Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission (PTAC), which serves both the ASHP and ACPE board of directors as the national accrediting review committee for pharmacy technician education and training programs.
