Amanda Patel, PharmD, DPLA, graduated from the University of Montana Skaggs School of Pharmacy and completed a PGY-1 residency at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She returned to the U of M pharmacy school as an assistant professor with an ambulatory care practice site at Partnership Health Center, the community health center in Missoula, Montana.
After eight years practicing in retail pharmacies in Missoula and the surrounding area, Amanda joined Providence St. Patrick Hospital as the first Medication Safety Coordinator in the state of Montana where she was recognized as the Practitioner Preceptor of the Year by the U of M Skaggs School of Pharmacy. For the last three years, Amanda has been a member of the Providence St. Joseph Health system pharmacy team as their first Director of Medication Safety, Quality and Accreditation. Amanda has been passionate about medication safety from the beginning of her pharmacy career and is thrilled to have the opportunity to make this her area of focus.
Amanda has served as a board member of the Montana Pharmacy Association (MPA) and chair of the MPA's Healthsystem Academy, the Montana state ASHP affiliate. She also served as the Montana state representative in the ASHP House of Delegates and is a member of the SICP Small and Rural Hospital SAG.
