Branden D. Nemecek, PharmD, BCPS is an associate professor of pharmacy practice at Duquesne University and an internal medicine and nephrology clinical pharmacist at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2011 and completed his PGY1 residency and PGY2 Internal Medicine residency at Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Nemecek currently serves as a PGY2 Internal Medicine residency program director and director of all residency programs at Duquesne University. He also chairs the school's International Advisory Committee.
His research interests include real-world analysis of common practices in the inpatient setting, often not studied in all populations, along with reviewing disease state management of inpatient nephrology patients. Dr. Nemecek also focuses on including residents and students in the research process with multiple recent publications including trainees and countless posters between ACCP annual meeting and ASHP Midyear. Presentations at national meetings include sessions at ASHP Midyear, AMCP Annual Meeting, AMCP Nexus Meeting, and the Societa Italiana di Farmacia Osperdaliera.
Dr. Nemecek served as an editor of Demystifying Drug Dosing in Renal Dysfunction from ASHP Publications and currently serves as chair of the ACCP Nephrology PRN.
