Tara Lech, PharmD, BCPS is the Health System Director of Anticoagulation Services for Beth Israel Lahey Pharmacy, where she promotes Anticoagulation Stewardship across the spectrum of care. Tara received her PharmD from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2006, and completed her PGY-1 and PGY-2 training in Cardiology at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center. She has extensive experience in Anticoagulation management, and prior to her current role, she served as a clinical pharmacy specialist at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and as the Manager of the Thrombosis program at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. Tara is very active in the Anticoagulation Forum where she helps lead the Anticoagulation Centers of Excellence program and in the North American Thrombosis Forum (NATF) where she Co-Chairs the Medical Advisory Board. Tara's focus is on leading system antithrombotic policy and integration. She has several peer reviewed publications, and she works with the PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents to develop clinical projects that promote patient-centric, evidence-based practice, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes. Her most recent resident project on perioperative management of DOACs won first place at the Lahey Postgrad Research Day.
