After graduating from The University of Illinois Chicago with a PharmD in 2008, Dr. Edwards completed PGY1 and PGY2 residency training at The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, specializing in emergency medicine. Dr. Edwards has worked in a variety of roles at the University of Arizona and Banner University Medical Center Tucson, including clinical pharmacy specialist, residency program director, and senior manager of clinical services. Dr. Edwards is currently an assistant professor with The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy where he teaches pharmacotherapuetics with a focus on critical care, emergency medicine, and resuscitation. In this role, he also practices in the emergency department at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson. His primary areas of research interest include trauma resuscitation, airway management, and pediatrics. He has been involved with ASHP throughout his career and has held various leadership positions, including chair of ASHP's Council of Education and Workforce Development and as one of Arizona's state delgates for ASHP's House of Delegates. He is also co-editor of ASHP publications textbook Basic Skills in Interpreting Laboratory Data, chair of BPS's Council on Emergency Medicine, and technical editor for the American Board of Emergency Medicine's Key Advances curriculum.
