Jeffrey F. Barletta, BS, Pharm.D., FCCM, is a tenured Professor and Vice-Chair of Pharmacy Practice at Midwestern University, College of Pharmacy in Glendale, AZ. After completing his undergraduate degree in pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, Dr. Barletta earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed a residency in pharmacy practice at the University of Arizona in Tucson and a specialty residency in critical care also at the University of Arizona. Prior to his position at Midwestern University, Dr. Barletta was a clinical specialist in surgical intensive care at Detroit Receiving Hospital in Detroit, MI, and Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Barletta is recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. He is a member of Council for the Society of Critical Care Medicine, a Past-Chair for the SCCM Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Section, and a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Critical Care Specialty Board. Dr. Barletta has been an invited speaker at several national and international professional meetings, published articles in many peer-reviewed surgical, medical, and pharmacy journals, and has contributed book chapters on the topic of drug therapy in the critically ill.
