Dr. Burnett received her pharmacy doctorate from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy and went on to complete a general pharmacy practice residency at Boston Medical Center. She now serves as lead pharmacist of the Inpatient Thrombosis & Hemostasis Stewardship program at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and is the residency program director for the PGY2 Thrombosis and Hemostasis Pharmacy Residency Program at UNM Hospital. Additionally, she is an associate adjunct clinical professor at the UNM College of Pharmacy. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on anticoagulation, thrombosis and bleeding management and has presented on these same topics at numerous national and international conferences. She serves on the National Certification Board for Anticoagulation Providers and has the distinct honor of being the president of the Anticoagulation Forum, a national non-profit organization whose mission is education and empowerment of patients and clinicians towards optimized use of anticoagulant therapies.
