Director, Pharmacy Quality & Medication Safety
Kaiser Permanente
Jennifer Matias is a Pharmacy Quality and Medication Safety Director at Kaiser Permanente National Pharmacy Services where she tracks medication safety issues and collaborates with leaders to develop and implement enterprise solutions that improve and promote safety within the organization’s medication use process. Jennifer brings 19+ years of experience working primarily as a pharmacist in the acute care setting in a variety of patient populations – from pediatrics to geriatrics – having spent time at a stand-alone pediatric hospital, community-based medical centers, and the Veteran’s Affairs healthcare system.
Her mission is to prevent patient harm from medication errors by ingraining safety culture, systems thinking, and high reliability principles within the organization and advocating for formalized medication safety roles and training in the broader healthcare industry.
While her office location is based in Southern California, Jennifer enjoys living in the beautiful Evergreen state of Washington with her husband, two boys, two dogs, and hopefully in the near future… five chickens!
