Katie Gatwood, PharmD, BCOP is a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Adult Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She received both her undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Michigan. She then went on to complete both her PGY1 Pharmacy and PGY2 Oncology residencies at University of North Carolina Health Care. Outside of her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Gatwood also serves as the Program Director for the PGY2 Oncology Residency.
Dr. Gatwood has been an active member of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT), and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) since entering residency training and currently serves on committees in all 3 organizations. She currently serves as the chair-elect on the Steering Committee for the ASTCT Pharmacy SIG, is the immediate past-chair of the HOPA BCOP Oversight Committee. Dr. Gatwood was the recipient of the 2021 ASTCT Pharmacy Special Interest Group New Practitioner Award.
Dr. Gatwood is also passionate about clinical research and education. She has authored several publications and textbook chapters addressing transplant conditioning regimens, late effects of transplant, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, and the impact of oncology pharmacists in ambulatory practice. She has spoken at regional and national conferences on topics ranging from graft-versus-host disease, veno-occlusive disease, and chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapies.
