Dr. Lourdes Cross, PharmD, BCACP, CDCES, received her pharmacy degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and completed two years of post-graduate training at the University of Louisville (UofL) Hospital, specializing in Ambulatory Care. She is currently an Associate Professor at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (SUCOPHS). She also provides clinical services at the UofL Adult Internal Medicine and Endocrinology Clinics.
One of her greatest passions is educating patients, community members, and health care professionals on health, wellness, and evidence-based medicine. Her research has been accepted for oral and poster presentations at state, regional, and national meetings, including the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP), Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES), Tri-State Association of Diabetes Educators (TRADE), Kentucky Diabetes Symposium (KDN), Kentucky Pharmacists Association (KPhA), and Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists (KSHP) annual meetings. Dr. Cross was recognized as the KSHP Pharmacist of the Year in 2021, SUCOPHS Physician Assistant Program Guest Lecturer of the Year in 2020, SUCOPHS Pharmacy Teacher of the Year in 2019, and Pharmacy Times Next-Generation Pharmacist Rising Star Award Finalist in 2017. In addition, she has written BCPS certification material for multiple ASHP Literature Study Modules and serves as the faculty writer for the ASHP Diabetes Core Therapeutic Module.
