Leonard Shawn Learn, PharmD is the manager of Geisinger Health System’s Centralized Clinical Pharmacy Services (CCPS). He earned his B.S. in Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Studies and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. Prior to becoming the manager of CCPS, he worked at Geisinger for four years as a Clinical Coordinator and clinical pharmacist. He also has a background in retail pharmacy, where he worked for seven years prior to moving into ambulatory pharmacy and where he received district and area level awards for patient service. At Geisinger, Leonard is involved with the Geisinger Clinic Northeast PGY-1 Residency Program and serves as the primary preceptor for the CCPS learning experience; he was the recipient of the residency program’s Preceptor of the Year award in 2022. In his current role, he has developed and implemented multiple new clinical initiatives including pharmacist-driven refill protocols, urinary tract infection management protocols, multiple transitions of care programs, and a 5-star comprehensive medication review program for the system’s insurance plan.
