Dr. Matthew Broadwater, PharmD, MBA, BCPS is a Clinical Pharmacy Manager overseeing Critical Care and Perioperative Services at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Broadwater graduated from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy and completed a combined PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. During his residency program, Dr. Broadwater's research project was the implementation and operationalization of a high-speed intravenous syringe compounding robot. As a part of his residency program, Dr. Broadwater also earned his Master of Business Administration from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
Dr. Broadwater’s other professional involvements include serving on the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders Section Advisory Group on Strategy and Industry Disrupters. He has previously served on the ASHP Multi-Hospital Pharmacy Executive Committee, and the Vizient Pharmacy Supply Chain Optimization Committee, and served as the Chair of the Emerging Practitioners Committee of the Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP).
