Kevin Smith is a Clinical Informatics Pharmacist at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Memphis, his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and completed an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. Dr. Smith also earned a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Christian Brothers University where he was recognized as the Outstanding MBA Graduate of 2021.
Dr. Smith holds a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist certification, and has obtained various Epic accreditations, including Willow Inpatient and Ambulatory, and Beacon Oncology. He obtained the Pharmacy Informatics Certificate from the American Society Health-System Pharmacy and serves as the primary preceptor for a longitudinal rotation for a PGY-2 pharmacy informatics resident at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Dr. Smith has over twelve years of combined experience in a pharmacist role in both the community and hospital setting. During his time at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, he served as an EHR application analyst for Epic Willow Inpatient, serving as an effective liaison between SJCRH and Epic for the Epic EHR Implementation. Additionally, he served as a key informatics team member in the selection and implementation of new I.V. workflow camera and workflow build and testing and led the conversion from manual anesthesia carts to Omnicell Anesthesia workstations.
