Tom Knight is an artificial intelligence software entrepreneur and engineer, and the founder and CEO of Invistics, a provider of software solutions that help prevent drug diversion and improve medication management in hospitals, healthcare facilities, and other areas of the pharmaceutical supply chain. Invistics was recently acquired by Wolters Kluwer, where Tom now serves as the Vice President of Business Development within the Clinical Surveillance Compliance & Data Solutions Unit of the Health Division.
Tom served as the Principal Investigator on a five-year national study to improve drug diversion detection in hospitals, which was funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and which is the focus of his presentation today.
Tom is also the Founder of HealthCareDiversion.org, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization tracking drug diversion in healthcare across the country.
Prior to founding those organizations, Tom spent 10 years improving supply chain management at Alcoa and Siemens, and holds three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
An industry subject matter expert, Tom has authored numerous articles on artificial intelligence and drug diversion detection, and served as Chairman of the National Science Foundation’s Small Business Innovation Research Advisory Committee.
