Pharmacist
U.S. Air Force Reserve
Dr. Miranda Smith is a US Air Force Reserve pharmacist and serves with the 316th Medical Support Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. She holds board certification in geriatric pharmacy, and specializes in infectious disease management and antimicrobial stewardship. She served 7 years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, wherein she earned a Master of Science in International Relations concentrated on national security and the East Asia Pacific region. In her civilian role, she is the Acting Director for the Asia and the Pacific office within the Office of Global Affairs (OGA) at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She has worked with interagency partners in the Dept. of Defense and Dept. of State and has planning experience in mass prophylaxis distribution, biodefense and security, and medical countermeasures against chemical and biological threats.
