Dr. Wadsworth, an Associate Professor at ISU L.S. Skaggs College of Pharmacy, currently serves as Interim Dean. Previously, he served as Executive Associate Dean and the inaugural Assistant Dean for Alaska Programs. In this position, he oversaw the development of Alaska's Doctor of Pharmacy program in collaboration with the University of Alaska Anchorage. Dr. Wadsworth is a pharmacist with 23 years of experience in community, clinical, and academic pharmacy practice and administration. He earned his Pharm.D. from ISU in 2002 and completed an ASHP accredited Primary Care Pharmacy Specialty Residency at the Boise VA Medical Center. He is Board-certified in pharmacotherapy and licensed in both Alaska and Idaho.
Dr. Wadsworth's career includes extensive practice experience as a primary care and independent community pharmacy. He owned and operated two community pharmacies in Idaho and was among the pioneers of unique telepharmacy services for rural Idaho communities. He is known for his progressive leadership and sought-after expertise in pharmacy practice and pharmacist healthcare services. Dr. Wadsworth has authored state regulatory and legislative initiatives, advising state regulatory boards, health systems, and professional associations. His primary research interests focus on sustainable pharmacist-provided healthcare services and associated medical billing. As the principal investigator of the Alaska SETMuPP initiative, he played a key role in establishing pharmacists as rendering providers and promoting advocacy, education, and training to normalize the practice.
