Ryan Rodriguez, PharmD, MS, BCPS is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy Drug Information Group (DIG). Prior to joining the DIG, Dr. Rodriguez received his PharmD degree from the University of Florida (UF), and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency and a PGY2 specialty residency in drug information. His specialty training primarily involved inpatient formulary management at UF Health Shands Hospital, where he provided support to the P&T Committee and evaluated enforcement of P&T-approved decisions in an electronic prescribing environment. At the UIC DIG, his routine tasks involve authoring drug class reviews for a variety of drug classes used in acute and chronic disease management, responding to clinicians’ drug information requests for patient-specific and population-level pharmacotherapy questions, and coordinating an drug information course and the UIC PGY1 Residency Teaching Program. He has lectured on topics including biostatistics, systematic error and internal validity, formulary management, and medical literature searching. His publications include analyses of medical literature searching, clinical trial design, systematic reviews, and numerous clinical topics at the UIC DIG frequently asked questions website.
