Katherine Shea, PharmD, BCIDP, works for Cardinal Health, where she is a Clinical Director in Infectious diseases. She earned her doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Connecticut and completed two years of a post-graduate residency training, specializing in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship. In her current role, she creates evidence-based strategies, support activities and educational programs to help hospitals and health systems optimize antimicrobial stewardship, and improve the safety, efficacy and cost effectiveness of drugs used to treat infectious diseases. Katherine’s areas of expertise include antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. She has contributed content and insight to multiple peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists, Infectious Diseases Society of America, and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She is a board-certified infectious diseases pharmacist.
