PGY-1 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Resident

Jason Levy is the current PGY-1 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) resident at Harris Health System. Dr. Levy graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience in 2016 before obtaining his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. His professional interests include medication safety, opioid stewardship, ambulatory care operations management, respiratory device education, and mentorship. During his time as a student, Dr. Levy co-authored a manuscript published in JACCP titled "The Impact of a Pharmacy Student-Led Community Naloxone Education Program on Knowledge, Preparedness, and Responsiveness in the Event of an Opioid Overdose" which highlights his passion for educating the community on the dangers of the opioid epidemic. Dr. Levy has delivered two presentations nationally over the topics of COPD pharmacotherapy and management of acute COPD exacerbations as well as asthma medication device demonstrations. In the future, Dr. Levy hopes to utilize his technical skills to improve clinical services to ensure patients receive safe and optimal medications that are cost-effective during every interaction.
