Gabriela Resto is a fourth-year PharmD/MPH dual-degree student at the University of Connecticut. She currently interns as a Medication History Technician at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, CT, and a Pharmacy Intern at Big Y Pharmacy in Tolland, CT. During her academic career, she has been involved as the philanthropy and advocacy chairs of Alpha Zeta Omega (AZO) Professional Pharmaceutical Fraternity, historian of ASHP-Student Society of Health System Pharmacy (SSHP), and professional development subcommittee chair of the School of Pharmacy Diversity Committee. Gabriela is an Urban Service Track/Area Health Education Center Scholar and serves as a senior coach for their Public Health Interest Group, working alongside interprofessional healthcare students and alumni partners. She also demonstrates national and statewide leadership as a member of the AZO Supreme (National) Advocacy Committee, the Connecticut Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and the Connecticut Pharmacists Association (CPA) Government Affairs Committee. In the future, Gabriela hopes to practice as an ambulatory pharmacist and utilize her knowledge of public health to serve and empower urban, marginalized communities.
