PGY1 Pharmacy Resident

Thomas Rust, PharmD is a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Thomas's practice interests include infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, oncology, and academia. His current research interests include antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacokinetics, and mechanisms of resistance. He was recently awarded the Viatris Excellence in Pharmacy Award from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and is an active member of ASHP. After completion of his PGY1 residency year, Thomas plans on pursuing a PGY2 pharmacy residency specializing in infectious diseases. Thomas's long-term career goals include practicing as a clinical infectious diseases pharmacy specialist at an academic medical center and teaching/precepting pharmacy students throughout his career.
