Gema Jacomino is a third-year student in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Pharmacy (NSU COP). Born in the Dominican Republic, and raised in Miami Fl, Gema has always had a passion for community outreach; which continues to be a driving force in her pursuit of becoming a pharmacist. Gema previously attended Florida International University (FIU Honors College) where she received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, and a minor in Psychology.
At NSU’s COP, Gema is a member of the Florida State of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP), and is now their P3 delegate for the upcoming school year. She is also an active member of The American College of Clinical Pharmacy (SCCP) where she serves as the Clinical Outreach Coordinator. Since her P1 year, Gema has been a part of the Legislative Task Force and continues to advocate for the pharmacy profession by attending meetings with legislators. Currently, Gema works as a pharmacy intern at Ethos Wellness Pharmacy, an independent pharmacy in Key Biscayne. Gema aspires to continue her growth as a learner and leader throughout her years at NSU in the hopes of becoming a well-rounded pharmacist.
