Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate
Binghamton University
Joseph D'Antonio is a fourth-year doctor of pharmacy candidate at Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and is hoping to continue his post-graduate education following graduation this May in a clinical residency position. He has independently sought out research and professional experiences in the field of infectious diseases since his first exposure to the material and has found both leadership and professional success throughout his pharmacy school career. Joseph served as the president of Binghamton University's local chapter of the Student Society of Health-system Pharmacy (SSHP), and played an integral role in supporting the organization of the New York State-wide grassroots pharmacy advocacy drive. Joseph was also one half of the winning team at the 2022 New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists' Annual Assembly Clinical Skills Competition which saw the team from Binghamton University up against teams sent from 5 other in-state pharmacy universities. Joseph opted to participate in this research to take full advantage of a unique experience that many current and future doctors of pharmacy will not be familiar with, as well as contribute to potential life-saving infectious disease therapeutics.
