Student
University of Georgia College of Pharmacy
My name is Amanda Sweat and I am a fourth year pharmacy student at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. I am also the head pharmacy coordinator at the Equality Clinic of Augusta and the 2021-2022 National Mental Health Initiative Chair of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association. I received a Bachelor's Degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL and attended Georgia Southern University (it was Armstrong State University when I attended) in Savannah, GA to complete some pharmacy prerequisites. I have been working at Kroger Pharmacy for 4.5 years and in hospital pharmacy for 2.5 years, first at St. Mary's Medical Center in Athens and now University Hospital in Augusta, GA. I am currently rotating through Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home where I completed the research I will be presenting at this meeting. I have an interest in veteran ambulatory care through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and I plan to apply to residency at VA Hospitals in North Carolina and the surrounding states to gain more experience in this system.
