Michael Stepanovic, Pharm.D., M.S., is a post-doctoral fellow in health-system pharmacy administration in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. He completed his Doctor of Pharmacy training at Purdue University. While there his research focus was on sustainable medicines in Africa and detection of counterfeit medications. Additionally, he served as an Assistant Research Coordinator at Rush University Medical Center and University of Chicago Medical Center throughout pharmacy school.
Dr. Stepanovic completed a PGY1 Acute Care Residency and PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. During that time, he received his Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a Specialization in Health-System Pharmacy Administration from UNC, served as Chief Resident, Interim Manager of Emergency Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Lead of the Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT), and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of the Sciences, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Stepanovic is active in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American College of Healthcare Executives, and is an active member of the THRIV coalition for IV accuracy. His current research interests include health-system pharmacy administration, leadership development, patient safety, practice advancement, and innovation & entrepreneurship.
