Courtney Jason Givens, PharmD, BCPP
Dr. Givens is currently serving in the role of Mental Health and Pain Clinical Pharmacy Program Manager at VA North Texas. Prior to becoming a program manager, Dr. Givens worked as a Mental Health Clinical Pharmacy Specialist on the Dallas VA Medical Center’s Gold Team, which serves veterans with mental health and substance use disorders. She also has experience working as an Inpatient Mental Health Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.
Dr. Givens obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy in May 2013 and earned Suma Cum Laude distinction. Following graduation, Dr. Givens completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2014 and a PGY2 Mental Health Specialty Residency in 2015 at the VA North Texas Health Care System.
Dr. Givens is active in many local and national committees including the Dallas Addiction Leadership Training (DALT) Fellowship Committee, North Texas and VISN 17 Psychotropic Drug Safety Initiative Workgroup, Addiction Council, and CPPO Subject Matter Expert Group in Mental Health, Pain, and Substance Use Disorders. In her free time, Dr. Givens enjoys watching sports, crafting, and spending time with family and friends, especially her husband and their 4-year old twins.
