Associate Clinical Professor

Dr. Jessica Starr, PharmD, FCCP, BCPS is both an Associate Clinical Professor at Auburn University, Harrison School of Pharmacy and an active clinician at Princeton Baptist Medical Center a community/teaching hospital located in Birmingham, Alabama. She received her PharmD degree from Auburn University and completed both a Pharmacy Practice Residency and Specialty Residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her teaching, research, and patient care activities are broad in scope as her practice cares for a diverse patient population; however, her primary area of interest is with the cardiovascular disease states where she is well-published and has given national lectures at both ASHP and ACCP meetings. In addition, Dr. Starr founded the PGY-1 pharmacy residency at PBMC which welcomed its twelth class of residents in July 2019. This residency program was recognized with a post-graduate expansion grant from ASHP to further residency training in the state of Alabama. Dr. Starrs excellence in precepting students and residents has been recognized with several Preceptor of Excellence Awards from the Harrison School of Pharmacy and with the receipt several AACPs Wal-Mart scholars awards. Dr. Starr has also served as the previous Chair of the Adult Medicine PRN for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
