Darren Hein, PharmD, is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Creighton University’s School of Pharmacy and Health Professions in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduating in 2012, he completed a two-year research fellowship in drug information at Creighton University's Center for Drug Information and Evidence-Based Practice, where he has been a faculty member since 2014 and director since 2020. Within the Center, Dr. Hein precepts APPE students on drug information rotations, teaches a required third-year course in literature evaluation and evidence-based practice, provides drug information and formulary management services to external contracted clients, and mentors residents and fellows in the Center's post-graduate training programs. Beyond drug information and literature evaluation, Dr. Hein has an interest in dietary supplements, and his scholarly endeavors involve systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses. Outside of his role in academia, he provides freelance medical writing and editing services to a variety of organizations.
