Dr. Brandon J. Smith is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Smith completed his PharmD at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh Pa (12') and subsequently completed his MD training at Marshall University in Huntington, WV (16'). He completed his post graduate training in Internal Medicine at UPMC Mercy (19') and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at UPMC Presbyterian (21') where he served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Smith has obtained the MAD ID Advanced Trainining Certification (18').
Dr. Smith currently serves as the Direct of Outpatient Antibiotic Stewardship at UPMC and serves on the UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Magee Antimicrobial Stewardship committees. Dr. Smith's clinical and research interests include implementation of B-lactam therapeutic drug monitoring, B-lactam neurotoxicity, multidrug resistant gram negative infections and endovascular infections. Dr. Smith is a member of MAD ID and SIDP.
