Dr. Veena Venugopalan is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky, College of Pharmacy. Thereafter, she completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency and Infectious Diseases Specialty Residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. As a board-certified pharmacist in infectious diseases, Dr. Venugopalan has developed and maintained antimicrobial stewardship programs at large academic centers as well as community teaching hospitals. She currently serves as an infectious diseases clinical specialist at the UF Health Shands Hospital. Dr. Venugopalan’s research and patient care activities focus on healthcare associated infections, multidrug resistant gram-negative infections, antimicrobial stewardship, and beta-lactam therapeutic drug monitoring.
