Melinda "Mindy" J. Burnworth, PharmD, FASHP, FAzPA, BCPS is currently a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, Glendale Campus and specializes in Adult Internal Medicine. She is a leader in promoting student education and mentorship, faculty development, minimization of drug shortages, rare disease / orphan drug education and advocacy, and health-system pharmacy at various levels. She held several leadership roles with the Arizona Pharmacy Association (AzPA) including Chair of the Health-System Academy and inaugural Mentor Connection Program. Burnworth was appointed to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Advocacy and Political Action Committee Advisory Committee, Committee on Nominations as second alternate, and Commission on Affiliate Relations. She lobbied on Capitol Hill during ASHP Legislative Day events and was elected as 1 of the 3 Arizona Delegates in the ASHP House of Delegates. Burnworth is the Volunteer State Ambassador for the Arizona Rare Action Network (powered by the National Organization for Rare Disorders). Burnworth has been an invited speaker for several national, state, local, and student professional organizations and provided over 40 presentations. She is recognized as a Fellow in AzPA and ASHP. She is also recognized as Teacher of the Year and Mentor of the Year for Midwestern University.
