To Infinity and Beyond: Drug Shortage Management for Pharmacy Students

Health Systems are seeing unprecedented numbers of drug shortages and as the medication expert, pharmacists should take a leadership role in managing drugs shortages. Pharmacy students should understand how shortages are addressed by employing data analysis, creative procurement strategies and rapid implementation of medication policy. This understanding would allow them to participate in creating mitigation strategies earlier in the process.
