  • Define implicit bias and how pharmacists' biases may negatively affect the health outcomes of patients from historically marginalized communities, including race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and substance use disorder.
  • Describe health disparities and social determinants of health experienced by historically marginalized communities that may be encountered in clinical practice.
  • Apply communication strategies to minimize bias and effectively communicate with patients from historically marginalized communities.
  • Create care plans which affirm and show respect for patients' individual identities.
