After earning a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, she began teaching undergraduate anatomy courses. However, it was her job as a lead pharmacy technician that encouraged her to start the journey of earning a Doctorate of Pharmacy. Upon starting pharmacy school, Samantha became an advocate for the career, attending Virginia Legislate Day as a member of the Virginia Pharmacist Association and maintaining the advocacy chair position for the Student Chapter of the Virginia Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Samantha’s inquisitive nature introduced her to pharmacy research, with her most recent work including the retracing of steps to understand the relationship of succinylcholine in neuroleptic malignant syndrome and investigating the effect of daily meditation on stress and academic performances. In addition to maintaining her current title of a pharmacy student, Samantha also works as an inpatient pharmacy intern.
