University of New England
Joshua Carver is a third-year pharmacy student from the University of New England School of Pharmacy in Portland, Maine. He received his bachelor's degree in human biology from the University of Southern Maine in 2018. Prior to pharmacy school, he worked in research and contributed to several projects related to the biochemical mechanisms of heart failure. He holds several leadership positions including serving as secretary of the University of New England Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists; representing his class on the school of pharmacy's academic affairs committee; and participating in the Maine Area Health Education Center Care for Underserved Populations (AHEC CUP) Scholar program. He currently works in inpatient pharmacies at Maine Medical Center and Central Maine Medical Center as a pharmacy intern, and he hopes to complete at least a PGY1 upon graduation to receive further clinical training to one day practice in a hospital setting.
