Licamied Macklin is a fourth year pharmacy student at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Mississippi in May 2020. Her previous research endeavors include her successfully defended thesis titled "The Protective Role of Estrogen on HIV-1 Mediated Neurotoxicity," which was conducted under Dr. Jason Paris, PhD in spring 2019. She is currently a member of several organizations, including Student National Pharmaceutical Association and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She has held various leadership positions, such as Associated Student Body Communications Officer, Class Secretary/Treasurer, Remember the Ribbon Initiative Chair, Membership Chair, and Social Media Chair. She is currently the Secretary for the Associated Student Body at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has been recognized as Class Member of the Year, Stellar Student, Outstanding New Member, and Distinguished Laboratory Contribution over her academic career. Her interests include antimicrobial stewardship, HIV, critical care, oncology, pharmacogenomics, and transitions of care.
