PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident

Olivia C. White (they/them, she/her) is a PGY-1 pharmacy practice resident at the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center. They earned their Doctorate of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)'s School of Pharmacy and their Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience from the College of William & Mary. They aim to pursue a PGY-2 residency in psychiatric pharmacy. Dr. White is the inaugural recipient of VCU School of Pharmacy's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion award for their founding and leading of PrideRx, VCU's first LGBTQ+ pharmacy student group. PrideRx continues leading initiatives in LGBTQ+ healthcare education for VCU pharmacy students and supporting local and national LGBTQ+ philanthropic causes. Dr. White was also active in the VCU Chapter of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP), Student Chapter of the Virginia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SVSHP), and their pharmacy school's student-run newsletter, The Capsule. They also served on the VCU School of Pharmacy's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. At AAPP's 2021 Annual Conference, Dr. White presented research on orthostatic hypotension monitoring trends for geriatric patients receiving select antipsychotics at an academic medical center's inpatient psychiatric unit. Dr. White's clinical interests include psychiatry, pain management, neurology, internal medicine, and gender-affirming healthcare.
