Catherine Ironbar is a fourth-year pharmacy student at the University of North Texas: Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in Fort Worth, TX. She attended the University of North Texas in Denton, TX where she completed her Bachelor's in Biochemistry with minors in Biology and Spanish. Her research background includes "Time spent in INR Therapeutic Range in Pharmacist-Managed Warfarin Therapy vs Physician-Managed Warfarin Therapy" and "The effects of a wellness room on stress and overall well-being among Doctor of Pharmacy students." Ms. Ironbar appreciates the versitility of the field of pharmacy and her practice interests include: internal medicine, ambulatory care, and psychiatry. One key professional achievement for Ms. Ironbar includes being the co-founder of the Black Professional Pharmacy Association (BPPA). Through the professional development events, community outreach, and interprofessional campus culture converstations, BPPA played a big role in the development of the Office of Diversity, Equitity, and Inclusion at the University of North Texas: Health Science Center. Another professional achievement includes being nominated and elected into the pharmacy leadership society, Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS). As an active member of PLS, Ms. Ironbar is able to sharpen her leadership and communication skills, work with other leaders, and mentor students in following cohorts.
