Scott Strassels, PharmD, PhD is a Research Associate Professor in the Atrium Health Division of Pharmacy in Charlotte, NC and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Strassels earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona and his PhD in health outcomes research and policy from the University of Washington, and completed research fellowships in pharmacoeconomics at the University of Washington and acute pain at Tufts Medical Center. Scott has worked in community, hospital, and hospice pharmacy practice, as well as in academia and the pharmaceutical industry. His clinical and research interests are focused on understanding the economics, epidemiology, and patient-reported outcomes related to pain, palliative care, end of life care, and drug policy. Dr. Strassels is a Mayday Pain & Society Fellow and a member of ASHP and APhA, among other organizations.
